In 2003, Jesse began his career as a full time drumline specialist with Philadelphia public schools.  His task was simple, yet monumental at the same time:  build drumline programs from scratch with rosters of beginning drummers.  Jesse has been fulfilling this task for 18 years in a unique way:  designing learning systems simple enough for kids to understand on their own, fundamentally sound enough to take them to the highest levels of performance, and deeply rooted in their love of popular music.  This student-centered, fundamentals-first approach has sparked a revival of school drumline programs across Philadelphia. 

An alumni of the Crossmen and Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps and earned his Bachelors Degree in Music Education with highest honors from Temple University, as well as a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Cabrini College.
